Vintage 70's Gladding Cyclone Pearce Simpson Radio Direction Finder RDF.
This Cyclone multiband radio covers LW, AM, MB, FM and VHF Air / VHF High with an analog dial. It has earphone jack, dial lamp and AFC switch. Operates from supplied AC adapter or 4 C batteries accessible from the back panel under the back flap. Has rotatable antenna for direction finder.
Chrome is pitted, including on the knobs, which also have some scratches. There is one ding on the speaker grill.
The battery holder is broken in the corner but replacements are available on various websites, including eBay and Amazon. Top couple of antenna sections are slightly bent but not enough to hinder the telescopic movement.
This was tested with the built-in A/C adapter. Light is visible in the bottom right corner when the Dial Light button is pushed. Was able to pick up various AM/FM stations easily. Also picked up signals on AIR/VHF but mostly they sounded like radio stations, i.e. playing music. I'm not sure if there are any radio beacons supporting the direction finder though I did pick up some signals that moved the DF Level meter. No other testing was performed.
