Vintage 1960s Magnavox Radio and Victrola Console - Astro Sonic Tube-Driven AM/FM Tuner Stereo and Phonograph Turntable
This is an incredible antique from the 60's but needs some TLC considering it's age.
Cabinet style is French Provincial. French Provincial furniture became very popular in the mid 20th century in the US. The colour palette of this French provincial furniture leans towards a warm gold.
There are some very minor markings here and there but nothing at all major. The speakers work. This is a tube driven stereo which can offer full bodied sound.
The record player is a Birmingham Sound Reproducers (BSR) was a British manufacturer of record player turntables.
Has 2 Power amplifiers and speakers which were hand built in Indiana.
With “Aux In” access on back of cabinet can use for Bluetooth, and mp3 cd ready.
Inside Sticker Model: 1P3702, Finish Ivory, Serial- 932999, Watts: 40, Run 4
Opened up back and determined all parts are original. Need someone who likes to tinker with electronics to bring it back to life. Tubes come on, there is sound and 4 of 5 knobs turn.
Observations of Condition of Console from a non technical owner:
Radio turns on and hear sound from both speakers. Can adjust four of five control knobs.
On record player the turntable tone arm needs to be attached but appears to have all necessary parts.
Has 45 record changer adapter parts
A great project for Chalk Painting. Wear consistent with age and use. Sold as-is with components but may require electrical work / rewiring.
