    Description

    I. History:
    a. Audrey Hepburn:
Audrey Hepburn was born in Belgium and grew up in Belgium, the Netherlands, and the UK. She won the Academy Award in 1954 for Roman Holiday and is ranked as a female screen legend by the American Film Institute. She was also inducted into the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame for her exquisite fashion sense.
She adhered to a minimalistic style. She usually wore simple silhouettes that emphasized her slim body, monochromatic colors, and occasional statement accessories.
Being both a film and fashion icon, She was well regarded as a popular public figure of her time. It is no secret that Audrey Hepburn was a trailblazer in redefining the essence of the female film actor. She was very mindful of the fact that women looked up to her.  She appeared in other famous roles before and after Breakfast At Tiffany's, including; Roman Holiday (1953), War and Peace (1956), Charade (1963), and My Fair Lady (1964). But it is as Holly Golightly that she is remembered.
Her Humanitarian achievements should not be overlooked. In the 1950s, Hepburn narrated two radio programs for UNICEF, re-telling children's stories of war. In 1989, she was appointed a Goodwill Ambassador of UNICEF. Her first field mission for UNICEF was to Ethiopia in 1988. She visited an orphanage in Mek'ele that housed 500 starving children and had UNICEF send food. President George H. W. Bush presented Hepburn with the Presidential Medal of Freedom to recognize her work with UNICEF. On the evening of January 20th, 1993, Hepburn died in her sleep at home in Los Angeles; she was 63 years old.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences posthumously awarded the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award for her contribution to humanity.  Her legacy has endured long after her death.
    b. Breakfast at Tiffany's:
Breakfast at Tiffany's was a romantic comedy film starring Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly and George Peppard as Paul. Hepburn portrayed an eccentric socialite who was a little naïve to the ways of the world. Holly was portrayed as a fan of the fashionable Tiffany's jewelry brand and enjoyed seeking out the finer things in life.
As the story played out, it was revealed that Holly was the product of a somewhat colorful upbringing that she was running away from.
In Breakfast at Tiffany's, Audrey Hepburn sang Henry Mancini's famed song, Moon River (A must-watch on youTube for those who have not seen it). Following the successful film, the song also won an Academy Award for Best Original Song and a Grammy for Record of the Year and Song of the Year.
Audrey Hepburn created a memorable character and a style that has endured even more so than the movie. The big hat, the oversized sunglasses, the tiara, the gloves, the hairdo, the pearls, and most of all the little black dress for decades, stylish women have been trying to capture that Audrey-Hepburn chic.
